Written, Directed and Post-Produced by Gwendolyn Jensen-Woodard.

I’m new to mixing, so remember, it can only get better! *grin*

Okay, there’s the technical stuff. Now, the stuff  you don’t see: the nerves, shaking, nausea..is it any good? Will people hate it?

But, now it’s out there. And episode 2 is going to be better, because I’m getting the hang of it all! Plus, then episode 3…well, that one has someone very special in it. And I can’t wait to show it to the world.

If I can, TamLynn PI will be a monthly show.  I am re-working The Importance of Being Earnest, wanting it to be the very best I can do, and Lara Bond and Dracula are in production mostly in other people’s hands.

Not to mention, our lovely Alexa, who works herself to the bone, and brings quality everytime! (don’t argue :P)

I think i rambled here, more than doing something useful, but that’s what is in my head right now! All I have is stream of consciousness right now. Fun, isn’t it?

It gives me great pleasure to announce that one of the Imagination Lane shows will be on the Sonic Society (not telling what, it is under wraps) so listen in over the next few weeks. This is a huge milestone, we all feel very honoured.

A Director’s casting thoughts

I can’t tell you how everyone does it. Sometimes, you’re only considered for a role you audition for.I don’t do that. I do what I’ve seen in theatre over the years: I cast you, if you fit into any character. If you don’t want the role, that’s cool, but as a VA also, I’ll take nearly any role. And, I figure most of us think that way (though, I do admit, I can’t read your minds.LOL)I just wanted to pass that along.

That’s a huge mouth full!

So, being the Theatre loving person I am,I thought HEY, The Importance of Being Earnest would rock as an audio drama. And, it does. BUT, having never mixed before, it is a huge endevour for a first timer! I have the first 12 pages of act 1 mixed. And have 13 pages left to go. Again, that’s just act 1. And it’s over 20 minutes. You see, Oscar Wilde didn’t do a lot of prat comedy, or visual cues. No, sadly, he wrote a lot of words. Both Jack and Algernon have over 100 lines (not sentances, but lines) in Act 1 alone. Not to mention the other three characters, and the sound effects. And, often, when people talk in a Wilde show, there aren’t other sounds going on…no dogs, cats, birds, cars, airplanes (duh) etc. So, it’s several minutes of people talking. It’s a good thing it’s a funny show.  I just hope other people think so. After all, it’s my first mixing, directing, producing, etc.Is it make or break? Not really. But I get the feeling, TamLynn PI, even with all the sounds, is going to be an easier mix.  At least, I really hope so :)But never fear everyone! Earnest is coming. I can’t let the Wilde adoring fans down. What? Did I just hear someone say “get a rope?” um….yah, I’m heading south now. And I’m not telling you where to *grin*

TamLynn I: Never Judge a…

So, I’d heard of Sonic Society back when I worked for the evil empire(don’t ask)I asked Bill how one get’s their link (you know, the IL link) onto the Sonic Societies web page. He told me to send Jack an email, and I filed it away in the: “To do later box”. So Bill did it for me!I’ve heard a rumor that all pilots for series are weaker than the rest of the season. I hope not, as they are going to Premiere TamLynn PI. The day after, it will go up on Imagination Lane, as will the rest of the season. I feel like a new mom again, without the endless stretch marks, and fear of my baby eating strange things.I think I’m still afraid SIDS is gonna get TamLynn. You know: Sudden ImaginationLane Death syndrome. So far, it hasn’t happened  (I don’t think) to any of our shows. And of course, I’m my toughest critic.Add to it: still mixing Earnest (Learning, I swear), cast Dracula, and Lara Bond: Mayaland. Editing for numerous people and voice acting when ever needed.Now….who wants Cake?

Nope, not the name of the next episode. Just how I feel, now that the first one is done, and out. And though I’m the director/producer/casting, I can say without hubris that this show turned out awesome. If you haven’t listened yet, please do. And let us know what you think! I know our actors, writer and post-producer would love the praise. If you have negative ideas, just send them to me *grin*This was my first big project where I did something that wasn’t acting (and I didn’t have a role at all :) and it came out awesome.Comedy, action, drama, and even a little romance! This show has something for everyone, even a Texan Bass Fisherman! It’s almost sad that it’s done…but, now comes the next great adventure. 0012: II. That’s right, you can’t get rid of us!

Zoulvisia Mixing

I have three scenes done on each episode 1, which means 6 total. I finally have almost all the lines in, just waiting on James’ evil version of his character. I’ve been spending literally hours and hours recording custom effects, and there is rather a lot of layering in this series as well as more panning than in my previous works. I’m experimenting a lot with it and so far it appears to be working.

I hope to have a rough mix done by the end of the week, possibly a complete mix soon after, so I tentatively put the release at next week some time, possibly earlier, possibly later. It depends on how much I manage to complete tomorrow.

Zoulvisia Cast

The cast has been announced on the Zoulvisia page (see shows on the main site). We have some fantastic people for episodes 1-3, script 1 is being sent out tomorrow and many people already have it. I’d love to get to mixing that asap. Script 2 and 3 are still being edited but it shouldn’t be much longer.

I received lines from the Baker, Unicorn and Zoulvisia so far which is fantastic. Gwen might be sending hers soon which means I can do those scenes right away. I believe Maciver and James Leeper already have a copy of the script, which means I just need to send one to April and Jules.

Am I a bit shaky? Yah, kind of. This is the first time I’m going to be responsible for a good portion of the show. Not something I’ve done before. But, it should be worth it. This has been one of my most favorite plays since I was a young tween.

So, the casting call is out! I’m looking forward to the audio drama, the actors, etc. And of course, the music!

Shaky or not, here it comes!
